An interesting statistic was recently released that at first inspired but then not so much. The article of interest is: Italians are buying more bicycles per capita that cars! Wow just fathom the environmental consequences and the fantastic physical benefits for all of these lucky Italians. But the reason for this change of heart is due to Italy's bad economy, the worst they've seen since WWII. None of us wishes bad fortune on such a beautiful country (filled with beautiful people) but then I ask why the transportation switch during an economic downturn? Just think of all of the lovely bicycles one could purchase during good times.
A Breezer city bicycle would be my first recommendation. A truly useful bicycle that allows it's owner to naturally choose one's bicycle over one's car for those city errands. Breezer bikes earn front stage on our sales floor at Queen City Cycle.
Joe Breeze, the renown mountain bicycle innovator, has given his transportation bicycle designs the same attention to detail as every Breezer mountain bike has received resulting in citified bicycles that appeal to all, from the novice rider to the experienced cyclists.
The original Breezer city bike design is the Uptown series. Featuring: 26" durable wheels, comfortable geometry, and quick handling. Not much has changed on this frameset design because the Breezer team got it right the first time around and after all of these years the Uptown is still winning awards as the Best City Bicycle in America.
Sexy? Well maybe in that shy, hide behind your thick eyeglasses way. Underneath the staid form it's a well designed machine that is ready to tackle the streets. Instead of reiterating the bicycle specifications that are clearly outlined in the Breezer catalog I would encourage any city trekking bicycle shopper to pop into Queen City Cycle for a test ride.
Recently Breezer has added a steel frame with a 700c wheel set option to their city bike collection.
We have been receiving favorable response from our neighbors although I still look to the shorter wheelbase of the Uptown series as an ideal design for city parking. Bike racks get pretty crowded in Denver this time of year.
